We meet at a coffee shop/bookstore (RJ Julia Bookstore) Cody was in the Navy and I was in grad school for teaching.
After we finished our coffee, we walked around the center of the town and just talked and talked.
Very special. He proposed the day after thanksgiving in front of my entire family in Texas. My sister, who is terminally ill, lives in Texas and he wanted to make sure she was part of it. That was very important to me.
We wanted a warm, rustic venue! We loved Curt the second we met him too.
Our relationship was untraditional at first, we learned about eachother through writing emails as after we met he went underway for 3 months. We wrote emails to each other constantly learning about each other. We did not go on another 3 until he surfaced again 3 months after our first date, but we already knew so much about each other .
