L+N | The Lodge at Wright’s Mill Farm Wedding Sneak Peek | Connecticut Wedding Photographer – Canterbury, CT
We met at the gym in Norwich. Nick was very persistent about spending time with me. I knew he was the one when he came to pick me up for our first date and he came to the door and introduced himself to my parents.
The radio in the car did not work, so we had to talk the whole ride to dinner at Bidwell Tavern and it was so easy and enjoyable. Halfway to dinner, I asked if we could get sushi instead and Nick agreed and turned the car around. Seven years later and we still have never been to Bidwell Tavern together.
We were walking the dogs at our local reservoir. Nick wanted to take a photo at the top of the hill at sunset. He was actually trying to take a video and get the ring out of his backpack. I knew immediately what he was trying to accomplish and started crying and laughing. After going to a celebratory dinner with friends we realized my ring was too small and tried to take it off, but it was very stuck. My finger swelled up SO much and we ended up having to get the ring cut off. Looking back it was HILARIOUS.
The venue is not only gorgeous but has a little bit of something that fits both of our needs. Nick wanted to be outside, but I preferred a beautiful industrial hall. This was the perfect compromise.
We are wearing our crocs at the reception, which we would like to have photographed in our detailed photos. We have jibbitz that say “Mr.” and “Mrs.” We encouraged all of our guests to bring crocs to wear too.
