“Jess has MANY great qualities but one that stands out is that she was always ten steps ahead of me and always on top of things. I never had to remind her of things or ask her any questions because she already had it done or figured out. This was super important to me because I am a very type A person! She was very accommodating and always super sweet anytime you need to speak with her. Absolute delight to work with her. Our pictures came out beautiful. So many beautiful moments captured. Also, DEFINITELY get the wedding albums! You pick the pictures and she organizes them for you. We bought ones for our parents and can’t wait for our parents to see them! It honestly felt like she became a friend. She is a vendor I will miss interacting with”

HIS Story
Unlike my soon to be wife, when i first saw Janna I knew there was something special, however I knew I had a lot of convincing to do. After several years of friendship, Janna finally fell for me and my master plan was coming together. The final part of my plan was cemented when we got our dog together and I knew this was the start of something great.
HER Story
I met Brian through working together at Bay State Milling. It wasn’t the cliché love at first sight. Our friendship grew slowly over the years until one night we were out drinking at the bar and my Maid Of Honor blurted out to Brian that I was in love with him. Needless to say a few months later, we found ourselves both single and the rest was history!
After their ceremony at the historic Essex Steam Train & Riverboat, guests boarded the train for a scenic ride through the Connecticut River Valley before arriving at The Lace Factory for the reception — a truly unforgettable way to travel between venues.
Originally built in the late 1800s, The Lace Factory sits along the Connecticut River and blends historic industrial character with a bright, modern event space. Inside, exposed brick, steel beams, and soaring ceilings give the venue its signature industrial charm, while expansive windows flood the room with natural light. The building once played a role in Deep River’s manufacturing history and today has been thoughtfully restored into a unique wedding venue that celebrates both its past and its riverfront setting.
With its dramatic architecture and waterfront location, The Lace Factory provides a versatile backdrop for weddings of up to around 225 guests. Couples love the historic details, open layout, and the ability to incorporate the Essex Steam Train into their wedding day experience — making the journey between ceremony and reception part of the celebration itself.
Couples planning a The Lace Factory wedding love the venue’s mix of historic industrial charm and riverfront scenery. Located in Deep River, Connecticut, the restored mill building features exposed brick, steel beams, and dramatic windows that fill the space with natural light—making it a favorite for couples searching for a unique Connecticut waterfront wedding venue. Pairing the reception at The Lace Factory with a ceremony at Essex Steam Train & Riverboat is also a memorable experience, allowing guests to travel by historic train through the Connecticut River Valley before arriving at the celebration.
