In the fall of 2006, at the St. Louis Festival in Webster, MA, Katie and Andrew met each other and started down the path towards high school sweethearts. In high school, Katie and Andrew enjoyed spending time with each other and their large group of mutual friends, and went on many dates that were chauffeured by Andrew’s Grandmother, Sitto. As they went off to college, there were many ups and downs with summer and winter breaks bringing them closer and further apart. After going their separate ways for a few years and one of them maturing (you can guess which one that is!), they continued to build on their friendship due to shared interests, such as concerts, travel, and food.
Flash forward to Memorial Day weekend 2015, Andrew decided to take a trip down to NYC to spend the weekend with Katie. Katie went off to coach soccer on Saturday morning while Andrew headed over to Brooklyn for the day, with the plan to meet up after Katie was done with soccer. During soccer, Katie suffered a fractured humerus and the entire weekend was flipped upside down. With only one working arm, Andrew had to step up to wash Katie’s hair, help Katie get ready, and be her crutch for the weekend. And thus a love was rekindled…
Katie would move back to Massachusetts in June of 2015 and after taking Katie out on a “first” date, their relationship would begin all over again! Their relationship bloomed with summer concerts, trips to VT, Portland, ME, and NYC, and a shared passion for running and food.
In the summer of 2016, together they moved into a quaint apartment in downtown Hudson, MA. During their time in Hudson, they would go through the dreaded process of curtain shopping, trips to Ikea(walked out with just a shower mat), training for a half marathon, trying to limit their ice cream consumption, and building a foundation of support, trust, and love.
Come July 2018, it was time to take the next step in their relationship. During a vacation to one of their favorite spots in the world, Bradford Camps, at the top of a ridge lookout, Andrew got down on one knee and asked Katie if she would spend the rest of her life with him. After uncontrollable crying and laughter, Katie said YES!
