Paul and Heather met working together at Mile Creek School in Old Lyme. She was an instructional assistant and he had just gotten the new P.E. position in January of 2013. It was a slow start, first colleagues, then friends, and eventually, he asked her out. Their first date was at Filomena’s in Waterford on July 21, 2013. It didn’t take long for either of them to realize that they were in love. They’ve been together ever since!

For the proposal, he completely caught her off guard and asked right in their living room before heading out for a drive. She almost choked on her pretzels haha, but he so kindly took them from her just before he asked, so she wouldn’t have anything in my hands. Heather screamed, cried, and almost didn’t say yes, but her reaction said it all.

The Riverhouse had everything they were looking for; beautiful views and landscape, plenty of room, and that they would be the only focus for the staff that night. Not to mention their food was phenomenal at the tasting, they were very excited for their menu. The staff was so supportive and wonderful to communicate with, especially Kelley and Hattie. It truly makes the wedding experience less stressful and complicated when you have a great venue/staff to make the day so special!
