Emily + James met in 6th grade and began dating in high school. James offered to buy lunch at Subway but Emily said McDonald’s because she liked chicken nuggets. When they got to McDonald’s she ended up not ordering anything because she didn’t want to eat in front of him, (she was kind of nervous). Years later she found out that James hates McDonald’s and really wanted Subway!
For the proposal James set up a private dinner at a Michelin Star restaurant in the Dominican Republic (upgraded from this first date) on the first day of vacation. He proposed during dinner and Emily says it was absolutely amazing!
When it came to finding a wedding venue, they loved the detail and character of The Society Room of Hartford. They liked the staircase and that they only hold one wedding at a time. And the food options were incredible!
